Review of IGT’s Dark Knight Video Slot Machine

New slot themes come and go, most stir up excitement for a few months then are left for dead with a new version or something more flashy coming out right on top of them. Very few games have that draw to withstand the constant barrage of new titles that are tossed out to the gaming community almost weekly now. Dark Knight by IGT is a title that will stand the test of time for sure.

This slot machine features two main themes, you can choose to play as The Dark Knight or as The Joker. The basic icons change depending which version you choose to play, but the pay scales are identical. There are two main bonus games, Agents of Chaos and Sonar Vision Bonus and the Sleight of Hand Bonus. Each can be triggered from other bonuses or by landing 3 bonus icons on the middle 3 reels of the game.

The above video is of the Sleight of Hand Bonus that triggered the Sonar Vision Bonus. The Sleight of Hand Bonus has you swiping the Joker’s cards to reveal credits, community coins or more bonus games.

The Sonar Vision Bonus is a match game in which you need to match icons to win credits. The catch here is not to make a match too quickly as your multiplier will increase with each non-matching pick.

The Battle for Gotham community bonus is a new twist on community gaming. You choose when you want to play it! When you receive a coin, you get to choose whether to play now, or play later. Each coin you receive you make this choice. If someone chooses to play, you can then join or choose to play later. Each coin you find will increase your multiplier in the community bonus.

The premise of the community bonus game is a race between The Dark Knight and The Joker. The version of the game you chose to play matches either the Dark Knight or the Joker in the bonus. During the bonus they race to Gotham collecting coins along the way which reveal credits. There are checkpoints, or jackpots, along the way that each also race for. It’s possible for you to win all the jackpots in one bonus.

Another neat feature is the “high score” listing on the game. The game displays daily and monthly high scores(credits) if the player chooses to enter a screen name.

The hit frequency of both base game wins and bonuses are very decent. This is a must play video slot for all gamers and fans of The Dark Knight.
